Quality Beauty Merchant Scheme
Safeguarding quality across the industry
The Quality Beauty Merchant Scheme invites the Hong Kong Productivity Council to serve as the independent third-party professional technical assessment body, with certification issued by the Hong Kong Beauty Industry Union.
The certification identifies and recognises professional, quality beauty salons, helping customers choose salons with excellent and honest service — giving customers, the public and the government alike peace of mind.
Four Safeguard Measures
Quality Beauty Merchant Scheme
Identifying quality beauty salons
Insurance Scheme
Customers are compensated if injured
Customer Protection Scheme
If a salon closes, customers can complete their treatments at other salons
Mediation & Arbitration Centre
Peaceful resolution of disputes between salons and customers
To be a smart consumer, choose a salon holding the Quality Beauty Merchant certification and enjoy the following protections:
Professional equipment
Every salon holding the Quality Beauty Merchant certification keeps a hygienic environment and is equipped with professional devices of considerable quality. The devices and products used have passed quality and safety certification.
Professional staff
Every certified salon employs beauticians holding professional qualifications — their technical standard is assured.
Protection scheme
Should a certified salon unfortunately close down, customers may complete their remaining treatments at member salons of the Union.
Insurance scheme
Certified salons can purchase beauty professional liability insurance, giving customers more comprehensive protection.
Mediation & arbitration
If a dispute arises between a customer and a certified salon, the Union's Mediation and Arbitration Centre helps mediate, seeking a peaceful resolution as soon as possible.
